This event will cover the latest developments in corpus tools and corpus applications through an intensive programme of interactive sessions to be run by leading figures in the field.

It will provide participants with in-depth knowledge of cutting-edge methods and techniques for undertaking advanced research.

Summer School in Corpus Linguistics: Tools and Applications

Programme and Speakers
This event is open to undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral students who want to improve their skills to apply corpus methods and use corpus tools in their own research. The programme aims at providing detailed introductions to the latest developments in software and techniques in the field, with practical hands-on sessions on how to employ these in your own research. Given the specialised nature of the programme, a basic understanding of corpus linguistics is recommended.

More information about the official registration will be available soon. Because we have many hands-on sessions, places will be limited. If you would like to attend the Summer School, please email us – once the registration opens, those who have expressed their interest will be prioritised.

Accommodation
Accommodation is on campus, which is at some distance from the town itself. We therefore strongly encourage attendees to choose the on-campus accommodation package. More details will be available soon.

Postgraduate Symposium ‘Corpus Linguistics beyond Boundaries’
The Summer School will be followed by the Postgraduate Symposium ‘Corpus Linguistics beyond Boundaries Symposium’, taking place on 10 July 2015. Attendees can attend one or both of these events.
