10th European Summer School in Information Retrieval (ESSIR 2015)

It is with great pleasure to announce that the 10th European Summer School in Information Retrieval (ESSIR 2015) will be held in Thessaloniki, Greece between August 31 – September 4, 2015 hosted by the Multimedia Knowledge and Social Media Analytics Laboratory (MKLab) of the Information Technologies Institute (ITI) at the Centre for Research and Technology Hellas (CERTH).

ESSIR 2015 will offer high quality tutorials on IR and related research topics, in a friendly atmosphere. The lecture programme will cover a wide range of: (i) foundational topics that provide a broad overview of key concepts upon which the IR field is built, (ii) recent and emerging topics on the current and future developments in the field, and (iii) special topics on the inherently interdisciplinary nature of IR.

A new edition of the Symposium on Future Directions in Information Access (FDIA) will also be held at ESSIR 2015, which will provide a forum for early researchers to present their research in a friendly environment, whilst among senior researchers.
