Senior Machine Learning – AI Engineer

Overview

My client is looking for a Senior Machine Learning/AI Engineer with a minimum of 5 years of experience to join their organisation in Limerick. This is a permanent role.

Key Skills and Experience

5+ years’ experience in Machine Learning Engineering, Applied Data Science, or a similar hands-on technical role delivering production-grade AI solutions.
Strong expertise deploying ML models within manufacturing, industrial, IoT, or operational technology environments including MES, SCADA, and sensor-driven systems.
Proven experience with TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Scikit-learn, alongside practical knowledge of model deployment across AWS, Azure, or GCP platforms.
Hands-on experience designing and implementing Generative AI solutions including RAG architectures, embedding optimisation, evaluation frameworks, and agentic workflows.
Strong understanding of MLOps practices including CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes, model monitoring, retraining strategies, lineage, and governance controls.
Ability to work closely with operational stakeholders and subject matter experts to translate complex business challenges into scalable AI and analytics solutions.

Responsibilities

Develop and deploy machine learning solutions for predictive maintenance, anomaly detection, defect classification, vision inspection, and operational optimisation.
Design and implement scalable AI pipelines covering data ingestion, feature engineering, model training, evaluation, deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
Build Generative AI and retrieval-based systems using structured and unstructured industrial datasets including technical documentation, operational procedures, and equipment data.
Create robust evaluation and governance frameworks to ensure model accuracy, explainability, traceability, and alignment with operational KPIs and compliance requirements.
Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and technology teams to identify innovation opportunities and deliver practical AI-driven business outcomes.
Support the adoption of modern AI and analytics capabilities by contributing to technical strategy, best practices, and continuous improvement initiatives across the organisation.
