Our Opening and Your Responsibilities
The Digital Business Services (DBS) department at METTLER TOLEDO delivers holistic technical solutions to support business productivity and provide an excellent customer experience. DBS services cover the entire spectrum from infrastructure to applications and from strategy to global operations. Our new Enterprise Advanced Analytics team supports and enables the business community with an Advanced Analytical environment and provides coaching / training on activities in the AA/AI area. To help shape our AI journey and deliver projects involving Artificial Intelligence located at our global operational headquarters in Greifensee, Zurich we are looking for a Data Scientist / AI Solution Specialist 80 – 100% (all genders).
You will be responsible to assess, build and deploy new AI solutions (like advance analytics, cases involving ML, DL, NLP, etc.) for beneficial global usage in our varying business units. Understanding the technical aspects, you… will also enable and train business partners in implementing their own solutions. You will take an active part in building our internal data science community. You should have an expertise in data science, data engineering, programming and software development. The ideal candidate will be passionate about artificial intelligence, feeling responsible to provide and enable the entire community on the new journey.
In this role, your responsibilities would include:
• Collaborate with data architects and data engineers to support and shape the further development of a data strategy and bespoke technical infrastructure, leveraging existing BW4HANA / KNIME
• Assess, design, build and test AI solutions for business stakeholders and users
• Helping and/or delivering data sets for investigations. Ensure adherence to standards, support verify data quality and/or improve data cleaning on the dataset
• Contribute to provisioning and managing the end-user community, accessing and working within the analytical environment
• Align with strict data and intellectual property related security guidelines
• Understand the business objectives/requirements and coach developing models that help achieve them, along with metrics to track their progress
• Manage stakeholders, provide transparency on progress, business case and risks
What You Need to Succeed
Following requirements are necessary for this role:
• You have a degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning or similar experience
• You have good knowledge of SQL and Python, preferred knowledge of R, Java-Script or Scala and good understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases (data modeling, data warehousing)
• You bring experience with data integration, cloud platforms, Databases like MS-SQL / SAP HANA, APIs with good knowledge of algorithms and data structures
• You have the ability to support technical project assessments including selection of hardware and to work independently and approach problems in a structured and pragmatic way
• You have strong analytical skills related to working with unstructured datasets, good organizational skills and coordination of work in multidisciplinary teams
• Fluent communication skills in English required, German is a plus
