TripAdvisor is the world’s largest travel site and our global travelers must have an excellent local experience. This role is instrumental in defining and implementing the localization roadmap for all TripAdvisor user generated content into 30+ languages.
You will report to the Localization Group Program Manager and will be part of the TripAdvisor Product team.
In this role, you will manage existing machine translation (MT) solutions and develop new innovative approaches to make significant volumes of content available in more languages, faster and to higher levels of quality. You will also work cross-functionally to develop, implement and manage localization programs and strategies based on the best technology and providers.
What You’ll Do
Develop and execute initiatives to make our UGC available across 30+ languages
Manage existing MT solutions for our user generated content
Own and improve the publishable quality and volume of raw MT output
Drive product development with engineers and designers around UGC localization initiatives
Define, analyse and monitor metrics that inform the success of proposed or established UGC localization solutions
Contribute to team-wide initiatives to:
identify technology/process/tool improvements and efficiency opportunities and drive implementation with the relevant teams
raise awareness of localization best practices to the wider business
Communicate localization status, progress on relevant KPIs, key issues and launch plans for key stakeholders across the business
Represent TripAdvisor at relevant industry conferences




What We Seek
Extensive localization experience in the online space
Substantial experience with sophisticated globalization architectures
Excellent understanding of the language translation process
Demonstrated experience in successfully leading and delivering complex localization projects for multiple teams
Ability to work with cross-functional teams and manage conflict
Excellent organisational and written/verbal communication skills at all levels of the organization
Proven ability to deliver in a fast-paced, technology, data-driven environment
Quality-focused with high attention to detail
Comfortable with presenting within the business and at industry events

Degree level qualification
Position is based in our London, UK office Occasional travel to our US headquarters should be expected, along with travel to other worldwide destinations
