Overview

The qualified individual will be responsible for development,
implementation, troubleshooting and, primarily, evaluation and
characterization of experimental prototype cameras for CMOS imagers
including but not limited to color imaging and range/depth imaging,
associated software, hardware, optics and image processing. Specifically,
there is an emphasis on hands-on lab work conducting thorough experimental
measurements, bring-up, troubleshooting and evaluating camera prototypes.
Other responsibilities may include development and/or evaluation of image
processing and image understanding/machine learning algorithms.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

– Hands-on experimental measurements/characterization of various
imaging sensors including, but not limited to 3D and color, before and
after processing, e.g. temporal noise, accuracy, FPN, image artifacts, MTF,
uniformity, color quality, various other aspects of image quality and so on

– Extensive troubleshooting of the above to improve image quality
and/or performance

– Development and implementation of experimental prototype
cameras, including software, hardware (if applicable), optics and processing

– When appropriate, research, development, implementation,
troubleshooting, evaluation of image processing, camera control algorithms
including color and depth

– When appropriate, research, development, implementation,
troubleshooting, evaluation of various visual recognition and image
understanding techniques

– In-depth evaluation of image quality and algorithm performance
including statistical analysis of results

– Documentation and reporting of results

– Writing invention disclosures, publications for novel imaging
techniques
