The Text Processing team is building a platform for our customers to simply and accurately discover and derive quantitative data from text. Through a combination of supervised and unsupervised learning, this team will enable our users to have record level precision while also identifying new trends in their data. The vision is to create a platform in which our customers don’t hesitate to collect freeform text data, have no need to export their data for analysis in other solutions, and ultimately empower our customers to discover insight and drive action.
The Engineering Manager for this team will have a significant impact by driving both the strategy and implementation for this integral part of the Qualtrics platform. You will be responsible for taking a young product and developing it to become a market leading solution for text analysis. You will organize and lead a team of engineers and researchers across our Seattle and Provo offices. You will join a team of highly talented engineers and leaders to help Qualtrics become one of the most recognized names in tech, establish Qualtrics as the market leader in text analysis, and empower organizations around the world to improve their product and service experiences through what they learned by using the tools you build.
Partner with our product team to drive the strategy, priorities, and implementation of our Text Processing and Analytics product
Research, develop, and execute on a technical vision for text analysis and natural language processing
Manage and grow a team of engineers and researchers across our Seattle and Provo offices
Develop, mentor, and coach other engineers
Help attract and hire the best talent
Be a strong advocate of our culture and example of our leadership principles (transparency, all in, customer obsessed, one team, scrappy)
Take an active role on the data platform and processing leadership team and engage in organizational strategy
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (emphasis in natural language processing or machine learning preferred)
History of successfully managing an engineering team (multiple teams and experience with research preferred)
Solid understanding of NLP, ML, and Text Analysis
Demonstrated ability to think strategically about the direction and implementation of a product
Experience leading a team of Ph.D. engineers and researchers
Excellent leadership, verbal, and written communication skills
