To support our continued growth, Interactions is hiring a Senior Speech Scientist who will work in an interdisciplinary team developing novel speech recognition models and approaches for specific domains that are traditionally difficult for a machine to accurately capture speech. The Senior Speech Scientist will work with an interdisciplinary team of engineers and scientists to develop, implement, and deliver virtual assistant solutions for specific verticals.
Collaborate with inter-disciplinary team to design, implement, and support AI technologies within a virtual assistant
Rapidly design and prototype novel solutions for speech and language processing
Generate and test hypotheses and analyze and interpret the results of product experiments
Work with product engineers to translate prototypes into new products, services, and features and provide guidelines for large-scale implementation.
Become an expert in our speech software platform, Curo (formerly known as AT&T Watson).
Collaborate with team to develop innovative interactive multimodal virtual assistant services
Develop supervised and unsupervised models, implement deep neural net training recipes, write development software tools, and find innovative methods to improve performance of a system that comprises speech recognition, intent classification, and confidence scoring.
Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Sciences, or Mathematics with specialization in speech recognition, natural language processing, or machine learning.
Minimum of six to nine years of relevant experience.
Experience in building speech recognition and natural language processing models for large enterprise customers.
Possess a solid understanding of speech and language processing.
Familiar with programming and scripting languages (C/C++, Java, Perl or Python).
PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Sciences, or Mathematics with specialization in speech recognition, natural language processing, or machine learning.
Experience in managing a small team, driving techniques and standards developed within the team.
Experience in speech recognition language modeling or acoustic modeling.
Experience writing speech recognition software.
Experience with speech and language software such as Kaldi.
Experience with deep learning tools and libraries such as Keras or scikit-learn.
Experience measuring speech recognition accuracy and estimating confidence.
Background in natural language processing.
Experience working with audio transcription vendors.
