About the Role
As a Research Scientist, you will design, benchmark and implement high-performance algorithms and machine learning models, and work closely with the engineering team to bring your work to production. You will challenge and improve the state of the art in the field of vector search and information retrieval at large. You will also get the opportunity to publish at academic and technical conferences, and communicate with tech leads and customers.
You will work in a fast-paced and rewarding environment that demands the highest quality work with minimal supervision. And as we all do a little bit of everything, you will also be a strong generalist, work directly with customers, and mentor other engineers and scientists.
In this role, you will
Challenge and improve the state of the art on how LLMs interact with information.
Get the opportunity to publish at academic and technical conferences, and communicate with tech leads and customers.
Design benchmarks and evaluation metrics for knowledge intensive work tasks.
Work with embedding models, re-ranking models, and agentic search strategies to help find relevant information for natural language tasks.
Work in a fast-paced and rewarding environment that demands the highest quality work with minimal supervision. And as we all do a little bit of everything, you will also be a strong generalist, work directly with customers, and mentor other engineers and scientists.

Qualifications:
Requirements
Ph.D. in Natural Language Processing, Machine Learning, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics or in related fields.
Proven research track record: publication of peer-reviewed results in top tier conferences such as NeurIPS, ICML, ACL, EMNLP, SIGIR, ICLR, etc.
Knowledge of one deep learning framework such as PyTorch or JAX.
Proven experience with large-scale LLMs and Deep Learning systems.
Strong experience in training and fine-tuning of large-scale deep-learning models.
Bonus Points
Experience with alignment using RLHF
Familiar with recent advances for LLMs
Experience in collaborating with engineering and product teams
Educational level:
