Overview

Summary:

Join Reality Labs at Meta as a Research Scientist, where you will play a critical role in advancing groundbreaking neuromotor interface technology. Our pioneering work, which stems from the CTRL-labs acquisition, focuses on creating an interface that utilizes rich neuromotor signals, measured non-invasively through surface electromyography (EMG). This cutting-edge technology has the potential to transform interactions in virtual and augmented environments.

As part of a dynamic, multidisciplinary team, you will investigate human neuromotor signals, develop innovative signal processing and machine learning techniques to interpret user intent, and design unique interaction methods and experiences. Together, we aim to unlock human potential by bridging the gap between intent and action.

Responsibilities:
• Conduct research and develop advanced Deep Learning or other computational models.
• Create tools and infrastructure to analyze and utilize rich multimodal data sets.
• Lead a team of 2-3 researchers and engineers in setting technical direction for projects.
• Facilitate the transition of our research into viable products.
• Adapt established machine learning methods for modern parallel environments including distributed clusters and GPU systems.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
• Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Statistics/Mathematics.
• Experience developing large-scale machine learning models and demonstrating their business impact.
• Proficiency in Python programming and familiarity with frameworks like PyTorch.
• Understanding of architectural patterns in large-scale software applications.
• Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment upon hire and maintain it throughout employment.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Proven success in research-related achievements including grants, fellowships, patents, or publications in reputable AI conferences (e.g., NeurIPS, CVPR, ICML).
• Demonstrated software engineering experience through internships, projects, or contributions to prominent open source repositories.
• Experience in transitioning machine learning projects from research to production.
