Our client is seeking an exceptional Principal Research Scientist with expertise in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning to join their pioneering R&D team, operating entirely remotely. This senior role will drive cutting-edge research and development in AI/ML, contributing to the creation of novel algorithms, models, and applications that push the boundaries of our industry. You will lead significant research projects, mentor junior scientists, and publish findings in top-tier conferences and journals. Key Responsibilities:
Lead independent research initiatives in advanced AI/ML topics, including deep learning, reinforcement learning, natural language processing, computer vision, or related areas. Develop and implement novel algorithms and models to solve complex scientific and business problems. Design and conduct rigorous experiments to validate research hypotheses and evaluate model performance. Collaborate closely with engineering teams to translate research breakthroughs into production-ready systems. Stay abreast of the latest advancements in AI/ML research and industry trends, identifying opportunities for innovation. Publish research findings in leading academic journals and present at international conferences. Mentor and guide junior researchers and engineers, fostering a collaborative and intellectually stimulating research environment. Contribute to the development of the company’s long-term AI/ML strategy. Write technical documentation, proposals, and reports. Evaluate and integrate third-party AI/ML technologies and tools.
Qualifications:
Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Statistics, or a closely related field with a specialization in AI/ML. 10+ years of hands-on research experience in AI/ML, with a strong publication record in top-tier venues. Proven ability to conceive, lead, and execute ambitious research projects from conception to completion. Expertise in one or more core AI/ML areas such as deep learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch), NLP, computer vision, or reinforcement learning. Strong programming skills in Python and proficiency with relevant scientific computing libraries (e.g., NumPy, SciPy, Scikit-learn). Experience with large-scale data processing and distributed computing environments (e.g., Spark, Hadoop). Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities. Exceptional communication and presentation skills, capable of articulating complex technical concepts to diverse audiences. Experience mentoring junior researchers and leading technical teams. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, research-driven, and remote work environment.
