Overview
The University of Exeter is offering up to 15 fully funded doctoral studentships for September 2025 entry as part of our Doctoral Landscape Award with the EPSRC (Engineering, Physical Sciences Research Council).
The EPSRC is the main funding body for engineering and physical sciences research in the UK. The EPSRC’s portfolio ranges from digital technologies to clean energy, manufacturing to mathematics, advanced materials to chemistry.
About the Scheme
The application process for this scheme is project-led, where you are asked to identify and apply directly to one of the projects listed as part of the application process. All projects advertised are linked to EPSRC-facing research. As part of your application you will need to prepare a personal statement outlining your research interest, your research experience to date and why you are interested in the project to which you are applying.
These studentships are competitively assessed. Applications will be shortlisted after full consideration of your application documents, which include (but not limited to) your references, academic record, and a personal statement (including details of your experience, knowledge and personal motivation for undertaking the chosen project).
General interviews are likely to take place between 24 March and 4 April 2025, and applicants that progress to this stage will be expected to have detailed understanding of the research project for which they have applied.
The University’s EPSRC DLA Management Group, in partnership with the Doctoral College, will make offers to successful applicants w/c 14 April 2025.
