Overview
TechWolf is an AI company through and through – the AI team is responsible for defining and executing the overarching AI strategy. Handling topics like research, fairness, thought leadership and internal enablement, this small and high-impact team takes end-to-end ownership of AI initiatives within the company. The field of Natural Language Processing (NLP) evolves rapidly, and its responsible adoption in high-stakes products like TechWolf is not trivial. This means that long-term research, alongside recognition at international forums, is a key priority for this team.
As an NLP PhD Researcher, you will work closely with our AI team, co-founder and CTO Jeroen and our senior AI Researcher Matthias, to excel our strategic, scientific research tracks. You will be advised by academic supervisors from Ghent University, and work closely together with their research group. Your days will be focused on deep technical experiments, while ensuring good alignment of research topics with the company objectives.
This role is designed for someone who is driven, enjoys innovating and beating the status quo. To be successful in this role you need to have strong technical and AI skills, be a true problem solver, know how to overcome technical hurdles, and be energized to learn new things on a daily basis. You combine technical resourcefulness with a result-oriented mindset.
What you’ll do:
• Drive research tracks: you will be a driver in TechWolf’s academic research.
• Publish research results: as part of your PhD journey, you will distill the research into academic papers and submit them to top AI conferences.
• Represent at international forums: by being present at international conferences and taking the stage to talk about your research, you will increase the impact of your work and uphold our strong image in the academic community.
• Guide results to production: when applicable, you will provide guidance to our Product & Engineering teams to adopt new methods to production.
Who you are:
• You’re a soon-to-be or a fresh graduate, holding a degree, preferably in Computer Science or Engineering, with availability to start in September.
• You demonstrate a genuine passion for technology, coupled with a desire to learn and innovate.
• You exhibit excellent communication and teamwork.
• You thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and possess the problem-solving abilities to effectively address new challenges.
• You possess a high level of motivation and dedication to delivering value to our customers.
• You’re based in Belgium and excited to work together with the TechWolf team in our Ghent office at least three days per week.
