The Role This role offers outstanding graduates and early-career candidates the opportunity to begin their career in data science within a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. You’ll work primarily within our Data Science team, while also gaining exposure to Data Engineering and Data Analytics through cross-functional projects. You’ll help develop analytical and machine learning solutions that support Evident’s benchmarks, research and client products. Over time, you’ll gain experience working with structured and unstructured data, automation tooling and modern AI techniques, while building a strong understanding of how AI adoption is evolving across financial services. You’ll work closely with data scientists, engineers and analysts across the business, contributing to projects that automate research tasks, improve internal workflows and generate insights from complex datasets. Examples of the work you’ll be across: Machine Learning & AI Projects: You’ll support projects involving NLP, LLMs and automation workflows to help improve research and data processes. Data Cleaning & Transformation: You’ll help process and analyse structured and unstructured datasets to create analysis-ready data products. Research Automation: You’ll contribute to scripts and tooling that automate repetitive tasks and improve efficiency across the data team. Cross-Team Rotations: You’ll have opportunities to work on projects with our Data Engineering and Data Analytics teams, gaining exposure to data infrastructure, pipeline development and dashboarding. Experimentation & Innovation: You’ll take part in hackathons, experimentation projects and internal initiatives exploring new AI and data science techniques. Core Skills: 2025 STEM graduate or 0-2 years experience in data science, analytics, computer science or a related field Experience programming in Python or a similar programming language Strong quantitative and analytical problem-solving skills Familiarity with analysing structured and unstructured datasets Comfortable learning and experimenting with machine learning and AI techniques Excellent attention to detail and curiosity for solving complex problems Comfortable working collaboratively in cross-functional teams Excellent written and verbal communication skills An interest in AI, machine learning and emerging technologies Please note: You must have indefinite Right to Work for the UK. Nice to have Exposure to machine learning, NLP or LLM projects through university, internships or personal work Familiarity with SQL and cloud platforms such as GCP, AWS or Azure Experience using data science libraries such as pandas, scikit-learn or PyTorch Experience working with APIs, automation or unstructured text data An interest in financial services sectors such as banking or insurance If you do not fulfil all requirements in the job description, we encourage you to submit your application nonetheless.
