About The Role

Over the past three years, Dandy has established itself as the leading digital-first custom dental appliance manufacturer. As we continue to scale, we are building a world-class Machine Learning & Computer Vision team to enhance our 3D dental platform and automate many of the human-driven processes in our manufacturing today.

As a member of this team, you will tackle challenges involving 3D geometric computer vision, generative deep learning, and state-of-the-art machine learning methods. You will play a key role in laying the foundation that will drive the team’s success, establishing best practices, solving ambiguous data problems with industry-wide impact, and having the freedom to innovate.

What You’ll Do
• Develop computer vision models to extract structure from unstructured, information-dense 3D scans.
• Research state-of-the-art methods for developing models to accomplish 3D generative AI tasks as well as conventional computer vision tasks.
• Collaborate with product and research teams to identify opportunities for improvement in our current product line and to enable upcoming product lines.
• Work with massive datasets to develop both generic models and fine-tune models for specific applications.
• Develop evaluation methods to establish confidence in our datasets and models.
• Implement best practices for our MLOps pipelines.
• Work closely with product owners on a feature-focused team to deliver value quickly to Dandy’s customers.

What We’re Looking For
• PhD in Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics or a related field, with a focus on machine learning and computer vision
• Extensive experience in Python
• Experience with 2D deep learning
• Experience with PyTorch
• Immaculate attention to detail and pride in delivering excellent code and results
• Experience with 3D geometric computer vision preferred
• Experience with 3D deep learning preferred

• Have published in ML and AI journals
• Have made contributions to open source code that you can share
• Have internship experience
