Overview

The AI/NLP Linguistics Analyst will be in charge of annotation, creation of grammar rules, formulation of language templates, and finding and evaluating patterns and historical data for the improvement of our partner client’s efforts in AI/NLP (natural language programming).

Qualifications:
• Native fluency in Japanese and business-level proficiency in English.
• Solid and comprehensive understanding of the formal aspects of the target language (e.g. grammar, parts of speech, formal/casual/dialects)
• Knowledge/awareness of linguistic terms and concepts
• Good understanding and interest in the current technology landscape: IT & computing, AI, machine learning, voice assistants, internet of things
• Grasping technical concepts and learning new tools
• Excellent attention to detail
• Ability to work independently with confidence and little oversight
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Formal linguistic education is a plus

Nice to haves:
• Experience using NLP tools and… concepts
• Experience in annotation work
• Knowledge of formal linguistics
• Working knowledge of complex tools, e.g. CMS, SQL, Advanced Excel/Sheets
• Some knowledge of programming/coding (e.g. Python, R, regular expressions)
• Experience in testing, data processing, database management
