Overview

Moments like this come once a decade. The Internet reshaped the 1990s. Mobile defined the 2000s. Cloud transformed the 2010s. Today, AI is moving from experimentation to execution.

At Redblock, we’re building the execution layer for Identity Security—where AI systems don’t just analyze or recommend, but take real, auditable action in complex enterprise environments.

If you want to work at the intersection of modern AI and real-world security workflows—and see your work ship into production—this role is for you.

About Redblock

Redblock is an Identity Security company focused on autonomous execution of security operations—especially in environments where APIs don’t exist, processes are fragmented, and humans are still the bottleneck.

Our systems combine:
• Modern foundation models (LLMs and multimodal models)
• Agentic architectures
• Deterministic execution and guardrails
• Human-in-the-loop controls required for enterprise security

We work closely with large enterprises and security platforms to deploy Agentic AI that is reliable, auditable, and production-ready.

Role Overview

As an AI Engineer, you will design, build, and deploy AI systems that operate inside real security workflows.

This is a research-informed, production-first role. We closely track advances in foundation models, multimodal systems, and Agentic AI—but success is measured by what ships, runs reliably, and holds up under enterprise constraints.

You will work closely with product, platform, and domain experts to translate cutting-edge AI capabilities into systems that execute safely and at scale.

This role is well-suited for strong Master’s graduates or Bachelor’s with 1-2 years of experience who want to move beyond demos and benchmarks and take ownership of production AI systems early in their careers.

Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and deploy AI systems that take real actions in identity and security workflows.
• Apply techniques across language, multimodal perception, and learning-based decision systems as required by the product.
• Build and integrate Agentic components that balance probabilistic AI behavior with deterministic execution, safety checks, and human-in-the-loop controls.
• Design and deploy Computer Vision components that enable agents to perceive and act within complex enterprise user interfaces and workflows.
• Collaborate with product engineering teams to integrate AI capabilities into production systems, focusing on scalability, performance, and reliability.
• Own AI features from prototype through deployment, including testing, monitoring, and iteration based on real-world behavior.
• Stay current with advances in AI research and tooling, and evaluate when and how they should be applied in production.
• Contribute to technical write-ups, industry publications, or patents when insights emerge from deployed systems, working with our IP counsel (we have an active patent portfolio).

Qualifications

Required
• Master’s degree (or Bachelor’s with strong equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, or a related field.
• 2+ years of relevant experience in Machine Learning, specifically focusing on Computer Vision for real-world systems and execution (e.g., multimodal perception including large-vision or vision language models, UI understanding, or automation in environments without reliable APIs).
• Strong programming skills (Python required).
• Demonstrated ability to take AI projects from concept to production-ready implementation.

Preferred
• Experience deploying or operating ML systems beyond notebooks or research prototypes.
• Familiarity with concepts in information retrieval, reasoning over structured data, or agent-based systems.
• Exposure to reinforcement learning concepts (e.g., RLHF, RLAIF) or feedback-driven system improvement.
• Experience working with backend services or distributed systems (Java or similar is a plus, not a requirement).
• Interest in cybersecurity, identity systems, or enterprise software (prior domain experience not required).

Why Join Redblock
• Work on real AI systems in production, not just proofs of concept.
• Learn how modern AI is deployed responsibly in security-critical environments.
• High ownership early in your career, with exposure to architecture, product decisions, and enterprise customers.
• Competitive compensation, stock options, healthcare coverage, daily lunch, and flexible work hours.
• In-person team environment in San Ramon, CA, with close collaboration and fast iteration.
