The University of Potsdam, Germany, is seeking to fill a Research
Associate position within the University Focus Area Cognitive Sciences.
This position (wissenschaftliche(r) MitarbeiterIn, 65% TV-L 13 Ost) is a
research position, offering time to work towards a PhD on a topic at the
intersection of perception, cognition, and language. You will be jointly
supervised by Jochen Laubrock (cognitive psychology) and David Schlangen
You will be joining a project that is aiming to explore how internal
representations of convolutional neural networks relate to human
behavior of on the one hand attention and perception measured using eye
tracking of viewing of graphic novels and artworks, and on the other
hand of production of verbal descriptions of visual material.

The ideal candidate has an excellent degree in a related field
(Cognitive Psychology, Computational Linguistics, Computer Science),
strong programming skills, strong writing skills, intellectual
curiosity, and the ability to carry a research project through. First
experience with eye tracking, NLP, or convnets is a plus.
