Overview

IBM Watson is looking for Research Staff Member in the area of Natural Language Processing (NLP). Specific areas of interest include: Information Extraction, Machine Translation, Machine Learning, Question Answering, Text Summarization, NLP Infrastructure and Tools Development, Text Understanding and Generation, Cross-Lingual Search, and Text Categorization. Candidates with a PhD in Computer Science, Engineering or related areas are preferred.

Candidates will be expected to have research experience in the specific areas of interest mentioned above. Additionally, they are expected to have published novel theoretical approaches to these areas or to have applied them in innovative ways to commercially interesting problems as diverse as large-scale text mining and search systems, language translation systems, trans-lingual interactions, and analytics in the health care and life sciences and contact centers. Candidates must have demonstrated research expertise in NLP, electrical engineering, physics, math, or computer science. Prefer candidates with experience working for research labs.
