We are excited to offer an opportunity for a role within the King’s College London Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience, the largest academic centre for mental health research in Europe as a Systems engineer.

The post holder will be expected to be able to contribute in the following areas, as appropriate to this post:

Extend our capability and software platforms for electronic healthcare record research and direct care, including support and embed these within NHS infrastructure.
Work within a mixed IT infrastructure and with Trust IT staff, informatics researchers and clinicians to define technical tasks; manage access to systems; maintain software; provide technical support; and improving technology where required, e.g. through scripting and configuring of web interface and dashboarding capabilities.
Excellent communication skills are required to describe and understand requirements, to evaluate performance of outputs within electronic health records research and systems, to support applications for information governance approval, and to provide reporting and dissemination to stakeholders and the research community.
Outreach to spread awareness and encourage uptake at deployment sites, and training of clinician and researcher end users.
Work with clinicians/project managers to define tasks and manage access (including information governance).
Train other staff to deploy, maintain and administer software projects.
Liaise with IT staff at other sites, to share and advise on successful implementation practices and experiences
Provide specialist or professional advice on software and infrastructure.
Expectation to work closely with the South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust IT team, and will be embedded within that team
