Are you a highly self-motivated and fast learner technologist who is ready to build Virtual Assistants to meet our Natural Language Processing (NLP) initiatives? The Allstate Artificial Intelligence Center of Excellence (AI CoE) is the team within Allstate that evaluates various Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies, develops Patterns, Practices, and Services, as well as assists other Allstate technology areas with the adoption of AI related solutions. You must be capable of working in a highly dynamic and distributed team.
To build chatbots, Virtual Assistants, Natural Language Processing (NLP) services and service integrations
To build APIs, Frameworks, and Abstraction Layers
Lead and participates in daily site, cross-site, and product team standups
Lead and participates in retrospectives; demonstrating and encouraging each participant to provide feedback with empathy
Serve as an expert on one or more business domain and a lead advocate of one or more technology stacks and shares that knowledge across organizations
Participate in the effort of shaping the architecture and design of the product; actively helps the team in choosing the right technology and solving technical problems
Capable of developing software using test driven development concepts
Can establish and follow continuous integration, continuous delivery, and continuous deployment pipelines and practices
Lead and participate in knowledge sharing and contribute to the overall growth of the collective knowledge of AI within Allstate
Capable of working with Cloud Computing Environments
Works well with 3rd party vendors, external consultants, and other team members
A college degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or similar field, including a solid understanding of Computer Science fundamentals
5+ years of developing and implementing systems at scale preferred
Strong experience building chatbot/Virtual Assistant solutions using Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Amazon Lex.
Strong understanding of computer science concepts, object oriented design principles
Strong understanding of distributed systems, operating systems, networking, databases, security, and analytics
Experience using Git Hub
Experience with Visual Studio 2015 – 2017 or Visual Studio Code; Eclipse or IntelliJ
Experience developing continuous integration, continuous delivery, and continuous deployment pipelines for distributed apps. Git and Jenkins is a plus.
Experience in Test Driven Development
Able to learn new technologies, and teach other members of the team
Experience with Cloud Computing Environments, ideally Amazon Web Services and/or Microsoft Azure
Knowledge of Amazon Lex and Lambda’s
