We are seeking a dynamic, passionate and experienced Natural Language Understanding (NLU) Engineer to:
Apply cutting-edge methods of NLP/NLU/Semantic Parsing/Dialog Management to question answering.
Design a state-of-the-art NLU pipeline that connects to an ontology-based knowledge base.
Propose and execute research and development of novel NLU approaches.
Apply latest machine learning methods to develop a strong NLU core.
Create a scalable solution connecting semantic parsing, ontologies and knowledge graphs.
Collaborate with a world-class ASR/STT/NLG/TTS team and with the engineering organization to integrate your work product into the overall product architecture.
The Senior NLU Scientist will report to the Chief Scientific Officer.
PhD in a quantitative field with working knowledge of machine learning and computer science
Strong background with at least 3 years of NLP/NLU/NLG/dialog research and application
Experience with Python packages for Machine Learning (Scikit-Learn), NLP (SpaCy), and Deep Learning (Pytorch)
Experience with question answering, graph databases (e.g., Neo4j), graph traversal (e.g. Cypher) and relational databases (e.g., SQL).
Familiarity with recent research on deep learning for NLP/NLU (DNN, CNN, LSTM, Seq2Seq, Attention, )
Publications in communities such as NAACL, EMNLP, SIGIR, Recsys, WWW, WSDM, KDD, AAAI, or related conferences and journals.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Ability to communicate effectively with product and engineering teams as well as the ability to dive into production engineering systems
Strong logical and analytical skills.
