The Role

FireEye is seeking a highly motivated and creative professional with a passion to make the world more secure. The successful candidate will be a subject matter expert with the unique technical and communication capabilities to build machine learning services and frameworks to support the mission of FireEye Intelligence. You will be part of a team, but often will work independently to provide a constant stream of information to meet analyst and customer requirements.

In this role you will develop, test, deploy, monitor, and improve our systems to support our machine learning processing and applications. As part of our internal research and development team you will help us develop and implement data analysis strategies and tools to improve our products and support our customers.

Responsibilities
Work on small team of researchers and engineers where you will take ownership of turning discoveries and ideas into machine learning models.
Lead the development of machine learning models/predictive analytics techniques.
Support design and development of data processing pipelines for both historical and live data analytics.
Strong analytical skills and systematic approach to problem solving.
Defines comprehensive new or unique research efforts related to core focus area.
Maintain Subject Matter Expert (SME) status in assigned areas, especially machine learning.
Provide leadership and mentorship to teammates on new technologies and research in machine learning.
Apply scientific principles to solve complex problems.
Develop quantitative models and data analysis strategies.
Design, implement, evaluate, and refine product prototypes.

Qualifications:

Requirements
Deep knowledge of at least one of the following: natural language processing, graphical models, Bayesian networks, deep learning, pattern recognition, machine translation, recommendation systems, ranking systems.
Analytical, quantitative mindset with a keen attention to detail.
A proven track record of successfully implementing deep learning and machine learning models on real-world structured and unstructured data.
Ability to work on routine tasks both independently and with the team.
Solid programming skills that enable you to retrieve, analyze and process data, and build machine learning models from the ground up (e.g. SQL, Python, Scala, Java).

Additional Qualifications
Experience with stream processing engines (Flink / Samza / Storm).
Experience with highly performant, available, and scalable enterprise-grade applications.
Cyber security experience and interest.
Degree in the arts (e.g., political science, international relations, regional studies, language studies) or sciences (e.g., computer science, mathematics)
Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of work experience
Master’s degree and 2+ years of work experience
