The Analytics team at FICO’s Australian offices provides consulting services to leading banks, financial institutions, telecom companies, and retailers across the ANZ market as well as providing support in Asia Pacific. The team works on a wide variety of projects across analytical models and strategy development, optimization, and regulatory compliance using the latest analytic tools & techniques.
FICO is expanding its footprint for ML/AI solutions using alternate data and advanced algorithms built and deployed using a suite of FICO products/ solutions such as Analytics Work Bench (AWB); Xpress Insight; and Decision Management Platform (DMP).
This role will play a key role in propelling our ML/AI strategy by demonstrating skills in data identification/ preparation; algorithm selection/ comparison; model development and deployment.
Manage projects focused on ML/AI and provide consulting services to clients on a wide range of advanced analytics-based services.
Understand client objectives and create a credible project plan based on types of data available, possible algorithm choices, and implementation options
Work with data ingestion/transformation tools to prepare modeling data, including streaming components such as transaction/ website/ social data
Build relevant suite of ML/AI models and test/ compare various algorithm choices and modeling/ convergence parameters
Present results and help clients understand the models and their usage in operations
Work with deployment teams to help implement the models on client/ cloud infrastructure
Interact with global FICO experts to track the latest updates to tools/ methodologies and also provide feedback on client adoption/ experience from completed projects
Desired Skills and Experience
Advanced degrees in applied mathematics, statistics, operations research, industrial engineering, computer science, or related technical discipline.
10+ years of experience in advanced analytics with client-facing project management and delivery experience including at least 3-5 years of building ML/AI models
Deep statistical modeling and data mining competence, with exposure to applications in scoring, forecasting, recommendation systems, and digital/ social media analytics
Expertise in supervised/ unsupervised learning including ensemble methods (random forest/ gradient boosting classifiers), neural networks, collaborative filtering, and network analysis. Exposure to NLP/ text mining will be an added advantage.
Software skills should include at least two or more of Python, R, or SAS; as well as big data technologies such as Spark, Hadoop/ Hive etc. Familiarity with Tableau, Qlikview, or other reporting/ visualization tools will also be helpful.
Strong command of English language with ability to communicate persuasively and effectively.
Exhibit strong leadership skills, provide direction/ mentorship to more junior staff, and help build the right combination of talent/ skills in order to grow the charter and impact of the team.

Cares deeply about quality of output and invests time and energy to ensure deliverables meet/ exceed client expectations.
