Overview

Our client is looking for an experienced Product Manager, who can help further develop a world-class Localization Platform, used by the Localization team to service all of their internal clients, such as product domain teams, Customer Support, and Human Language Technology (machine translation team), and interact with external vendors.

The position involves, but is not limited to:

Gathering and defining the requirements for different user groups, such as internal clients, as well as Localization Project Managers, Engineers, and Language Specialists.

Documentation of requirements in form of product vision, epics, and user stories

Creating a well-defined product roadmap and backlog.

Assessing technical feasibility and complexity, potential productivity gain.

Leading a cross-functional team through the product development lifecycle to deliver on the above, working closely with internal stakeholders and external partners. Manage communications and expectations.

Helping with feature prioritization and identification of product gaps.

Providing problem resolutions and developing contingency plans.

Creating and executing the plan to deliver all components of the platform, ensuring proper documentation, user training and support processes

Defining success metrics, measuring and communicating results to all stakeholders, and upper management.

Identifying new opportunities to further optimize our services for quality, speed, and cost.

The position will report to the Sr. Localization Program Manager.

Qualifications:

5+ years technical product management experience in a platform or services context

Demonstrated track record of managing large-scale localization platform implementations in collaboration with localization / internationalization teams (preferred)

Excellent understanding of the most common software development methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, etc.); experience working as product owner with agile development methodologies

Technical fluency; comfortable understanding and discussing architectural concepts

In-depth knowledge of, and experience with Translation Management (TMS, e.g. SDL WorldServer), and Content Management Systems (CMS).

Solid analytical skills with experience in translating complex business and customer issues into technical solutions

Strong drive and curiosity to come up with new ideas and identify opportunities

Ability to build positive relationships through a strong commitment to high quality and on time delivery.

Ability to apply convergent thinking to recommend viable, innovative solutions, and to visually articulate product ideas.

Ability to conceptualize and describe complex problems.
