The Department of Languages at the University of Helsinki invites
applications for a postdoctoral researcher for a fixed term period of one
year from 1 March 2018 onwards (or as agreed).
We are looking for candidates with a background in linguistics, history or
digital humanities, or some combination of these. The candidate would work
in a research project focusing on the late modern period up to the first
half of the twentieth century, actively collaborating with the research
project members and participating in joint publications. Expertise in the
use of computational methods in linguistic or historical research as well
as familiarity with the period should be shown in the research plan.

An appointee must have a doctoral degree in a relevant discipline, the
ability to conduct independent scientific research and possess the teaching
skills required for the position. In addition, the candidates are expected
to have excellent skills in English.
