The NLP Lab (http://ov-research.uwaterloo.ca/NLP_lab.html) at the University of Waterloo invites applications for a fully-funded one-year post-doctoral position in machine learning and natural language processing.
The post-doctoral fellow will conduct research and design deep learning models as part of the project “Task-based Latent Semantic Information Retrieval”. This project is funded by an Amazon Research Award supporting academic research in machine learning, natural language understanding, search and more.

An ideal candidate should possess (or be near completion of) a doctoral degree in machine learning or natural language processing together with a solid mathematical background, strong academic publication record, and experience developing in Python using deep learning libraries, such as TensorFlow and PyTorch.
Applications from exchange students in the final year of their PhD program will also be considered.
