The project investigates geometric and topological problems of digital
objects (composed of pixels/voxels) under geometric transformations in a
discrete space, and aims to develop a purely discrete framework that allows
such geometric manipulation of digital objects without geometric and
topological conflict.

Applicants should have (or expect to receive) a PhD in mathematics or
computer science with knowledges and/or interests of the related fields,
such as digital geometry, discrete geometry, computational geometry,
digital image processing, computer algebra, etc. Programming skills (C/C++,
Java, Maple, Mathematica etc.) are fundamental.
