The Department of Computer Science at the University College London (UCL) has a vacancy for a Postdoctoral Research Associate to work in the group of Prof. Emine Yilmaz. The postdoc will pursue research projects on the intersection of Information Retrieval, Natural Language Processing and Machine Learning where humans and computational technology jointly achieve system-wide goals.
The postdoc will work on the “Task Based Information Retrieval” EPSRC project together with one more postdoc and two PhD students. The final goal of the project is to devise systems that collaborate with humans and provide assistance in completing complex tasks.
This post is funded for 3 years in the first instance.
Candidates should have a PhD (or equivalent qualification) or have held a previous postdoctoral position in machine learning, user modelling, knowledge base construction, or closely related areas. Knowledge on machine learning (in particular deep learning) is essential (as demonstrated by a strong publication record), and knowledge of recommendation systems, user modelling and personalization techniques are highly desirable.
