Disney Research Zürich is a laboratory doing research for The Walt Disney Company. Our 80 researchers are developing new technologies in the areas of computer vision, robotics, camera & capture technology, AR/VR, AI/ML, and materials. You would work as a member of the platforms group, working together with other lab research groups as well as with a design team.

In this project, you will develop a prototype tool that allows authors to create animated stories, which can be experienced in Virtual Reality. One of the major components of this project will be to facilitate authoring nonlinear immersive story scripts in VR and to explore how computational intelligence can be used to create “intelligent assistants” which can help authors in writing VR stories.

You should be a very flexible, highly responsible and reliable person, with a high degree of self-organization and strong software engineering and analytical skills. Work language is English. Required Knowledge and Skills:

Coursework in Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning / Natural Language Processing
Experience with using deep neural architectures such as Tensorflow or equivalent
Experience with natural language parsing, and synthesis
Experience with knowledge representation and reasoning
Additional Skills:

Experience in Java (multithreading, sockets, and scheduling)
Knowledge of Linux and suitable scripting and bash skills
Basic knowledge of MySQL (for logging user calls) and administrative amazon AWS (cloud)
Desired Skills:

Previous experience in novel user interface design
Character Animation
VR Development
Mobile app development

Specific requirements:

This is a full-time position (3-6 months), starting date – December 1, 2017, or by agreement.
