The LinkedIn Content Understanding team leverages large volumes of data and state-of-the-art machine learning techniques to understand what our 500+ million members read and write about on linkedin.com. We blend expertise in machine learning, natural language processing, software engineering, evaluation and human judgment to develop and deploy topic extraction, document classification, named entity recognition, entity linking and information extraction technologies at scale. Our work impacts on the LinkedIn feed experience, personalized content recommendation, ads relevance and more.
We are looking for an applied research engineer intern to work on content understanding with us. You will be encouraged to experiment with state-of-the-art machine learning, natural language processing and information retrieval techniques and implement solutions that will help to improve LinkedIn’s ability to understand the content written and shared on our platform.
Developing and implementing effective and efficient solutions for content understanding
Working in a team environment
Writing production quality code
Contributing to innovations and data insights that fuel LinkedIn’s vision and mission.
You must be currently enrolled in a college or university program and must be returning to school the term following your summer internship
Currently pursuing a B.S. or M.S. in computer science, statistics, mathematics, electrical engineering, machine learning or have equivalent experience through coursework or internships
Experience with machine learning
Currently pursuing a Ph.D in computer science, statistics, mathematics, electrical engineering, machine learning
Hands-on experience with neural networks and deep learning
Expertise with one or several of the following scientific libraries: Tensorflow, Torch, Theano
Experience or desire to learn Hadoop
Track record of strong team work, with excellent communication skills.
