Job Description

MicroStrategy is seeking an experienced product leader with excellent analytical, technical and outbound communication skills. This leader will work closely with MicroStrategy’s most innovative customers in driving our future roadmap and strategy in the area of Machine Learning, AI, and Predictive Analytics.

Director of Machine Learning Programs is a hands-on role – working directly with our customers and with internal teams to drive customer and product success. You will need to be versed on ML technologies to help guide customers through exploration of use cases. You will need to have discussions with multiple personas including Data Scientists, Business Users and Developers to identify potential ML projects. You must be very articulate on the business and technical sides to drive effective, productive plans. Once identifying use cases, you will be tasked to work with the customer and with Product Development and Services teams to manage and deliver strategic projects. you will create a repeatable program out of these customer engagements to enable scaling out future projects through our Customer Service organization.

A passion for driving innovation, finding solutions to the toughest enterprise Business Intelligence challenges, and sharing customer success and learnings with the ability to excite and lead teams is absolutely necessary for this role.




The Ideal Candidate Should Be Capable Of The Following
Build programs to explore potential analytics-driven AI, ML, NLP applications and use cases.
Discuss opportunities with customers leveraging your knowledge of ML/AI technology ecosystem (data layer including Big Data platforms; processing languages such as R, Scala, Python)
Interact with Data Scientists, Business Users and Developers on use cases and MicroStrategy offerings
Define projects and goals and drive them to completion by assembling and collaborating with cross-functional teams in Development, Sales Engineering, Marketing and Consulting.
Understand the technical details of the customer requests and issues and relate that to Engineering and Product Management with additional context of the broader business use cases and relevancy to the product roadmap.
Be a strong advocate for customers and ensure the product teams are empowered with the right knowledge to drive customer success
Ensure that broader corporate goals are met by understanding revenue impact
Work closely with Sales teams to manage expectations for customer accounts and reconcile commitments with revenue and other product priorities
Work with customers and end users who use MicroStrategy to understand the utilization of our product and how that relates to issues reported
Push hard for quality and ensure that committed features are thoroughly tested by reviewing acceptance criteria and test cases
Be an active participant with product teams. Think creatively and out-of-the-box, not simply pushing customer requests over the wall, but ensuring needs are understood and addressed with the best solution, not necessarily an exact point feature to the customer request
Present to customer and senior management on goals, objectives, and progress with the ability to clearly articulate the big picture and how work relates to the broader corporate goals and strategy

Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree or applicable experience in a technical or related field
7+ years in Product Development/Product Management and/or Consulting in Business Intelligence/Big Data/Analytics or MicroStrategy partner experience or equivalent hands-on customer experience in the BI field
Background in Machine Learning through actual implemented projects (in school and/or in practice)
Knowledge of common languages and libraries used for data processing in ML (e.g. R, Scala, Python, Tensorflow, Azure ML, Amazon ML, Spark MLlib etc.)
Experience in customer-facing roles, solving problems for large enterprise software customers
Product Management experience in enterprise software is highly desired but not necessary if the domain experience extending to customer engagements is strong
Solid understanding of typical enterprise software issues including scalability, clustering, performance, security
Good grasp of complexities of deployment in cloud infrastructure including AWS and Azure such as security, integration, and compliance
Ability to parse technical support cases and understand customers’ complex and unique requirements and correlate to broader product platform needs and related business objectives
Ability to listen well and also be assertive and informed when communicating with internal teams to ensure customer needs are met and aligned with the product strategy
Experience working with cross-functional groups notably Professional Services, Technical Support, QA, Engineering, and Product Management
Excellent written and presentation skills – must be able to present to our customers and senior MicroStrategy leaders– conveying business value and also competency in understanding the underlying technical issues
Travel – 25% is needed
