Rollio is an AI assistant for CRM (Customer Relationship Management) software. CRMs like Salesforce, MS Dynamics and SAP are at the heart of almost every business in every sector from finance to charities; but the graphical interfaces of most traditional CRMs are old-fashioned or overwhelming. At Rollio we believe in a future where users can interact with their business software through voice and natural language. Our AI virtual assistant uses Natural Language Parsing (NLP)/NLU to interpret user commands, proactively suggests actions to them, parse data to populate & update records, and generally helps them do their job faster.
We are a venture-backed startup, based in New York with our core developer hub in Barcelona Spain. Currently we are a team of 8 in total so you’ll be joining at an early, exciting stage.

Communication. We are a distributed team in different timezones so we’ve thought a lot about how we communicate. We write technical white papers before starting work on a major feature to ensure there is agreement on the intended outcomes and to foresee implementation issues. We use Slack and group calls to stay in-sync but we respect ‘Maker Work’ and each other’s productivity.
Quality. We review each other’s code and are constantly pushing ourselves to improve.

Over the past 2 years we have custom-built our own NLP API which powers our mobile app. The users have conversations with Rollio and it’s the job of the NLP API to understand what they’re saying. We want someone who will:
Collaborate with the rest of the team by writing unit-tested, maintainable code and carrying out code reviews
Be empathetic to the experience of our users and how ‘real people’ say things (which is not always how you would expect!)
Have an experimental and methodical mindset to developing new features. When writing a white paper before starting the feature, how will you run experiments to prove that your approach is the best? Once we deploy a new feature, how will you test to know that it’s working? How will you gather data to improve performance over time?
Help us explore new ways of ingesting data from email, phonecalls and web-scraping to populate users’ CRM records
3+ years professional experience with Python
Knowledge of NLP/NLUE concepts and willingness to learn a lot very quickly if you don’t have an NLP background
Experience working with Rasa
Experience of delivering production-ready APIs using cloud services and containers (AWS, CI/CD, Docker)
Experience with statistical analysis, creating dashboards, ETL, Machine Learning, Deep Neural Networks
Experience building voice interfaces
Good written and spoken English
