Main Job Role And Responsibilities
We are looking for a motivated new team member that can help us research and invent groundbreaking new software technologies at the intersection of software engineering and machine learning.
As a researcher at Nokia Bell Labs, you
Push the boundaries of the state-of-the-art in your area of expertise.
Build and present proof-of-concept demonstrators and convince others of your work.
Create new intellectual property through code, patents, prototypes, papers, software libraries, etc.
Work with Bell Labs researchers across the globe, and external academic and industrial partners, on challenging technical research projects.
Work with Nokia business units to transfer knowledge and to consult on expert knowledge. Work to become the go-to person in your field of expertise.

We are looking for a person with academic and/or industrial research experience in AI and state-of-the-art natural language processing techniques. This can be interpreted broadly, but we are particularly interested if you have previously applied NLP techniques to process technical documentation or semi-structured software artifacts.
You have a PhD degree or Master degree in Computer Science or ICT Engineering.
You have a proven track record in AI, machine learning, natural language processing (with publications at quality conferences such as ACL, EMNLP, NAACL, EACL, COLING, CoNLL or related areas such as machine learning (ICML, ICLR) or information retrieval conferences)
You have demonstrable programming skills. Pointers to research prototypes you have built or open source libraries you have developed or contributed to, are much appreciated.
Hands-on experience with deep learning is a plus (not an absolute requirement).
You are a great communicator, able to explain your goals and your research to a broad audience.
You are a quick learner, able to identify & research new technologies.
You have personal drive, are committed to team objectives and have a positive, “can-do” attitude. You can work autonomously with little day-to-day guidance.
You feel comfortable working in an international environment where English is the main language.
