Artificial Intelligence Subject Matter Expert
Position will provide AI Subject Matter Expert support to the BUMED Digital Vanguard (DV) Program to accelerate and enhance the “crowds” understanding of Artificial Intelligence emerging technologies. Position is on site in Falls Church, VA. Ability to obtain a SECRET Clearance preferred.
Roles And Responsibilities
Provide mentorship to Digital Vanguard team in all aspects of AI.
Research and recommend the appropriate systems and tools to be used on a particular project based on the customer’s requirements and availability of resources.
As new AI technologies are available in the market place, the candidate must be able to determine its applicability to use cases where it can enhance capabilities.
Shape abstract, ambiguous product design goals into tangible, and scientifically-backed experiences.
Research and recommend solutions by comparing the advantages and disadvantages of custom development and purchased commercial off the shelf products.

Bachelor’s degree and/or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, AI, or a related field. (will US Citizen able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.
7+yrs of applicable experience.
Strong portfolio of advanced AI technologies and systems integration project delivery, including demonstrated experience within the following domains:
Machine/Deep Learning – machine learning algorithms and platforms, neural networks
Language – Natural Language Processing, machine translation, emotion detection, language detection, classification
Vision – computer vision, object recognition/tracking, face/gender/age/emotion recognition, OCR/handwriting recognition
Sound – audio processing, Speech-to-Text/ Diarization, speech recognition, text to speech, emotion detection, language detection, sound recognition, gender/age detection, speaker detection
AI solutions – Virtual Agents, Robotic Process Automation, intelligent case processing, Video Analytics, Unique Identity/ biometrics, inference engines, stream monitoring, intelligent search, ontologies/knowledge representations
Deep aptitude and proficiency in programming and design techniques (.Net platform (incl. WPF and WCF), C# / C++, Java, Web/DB development, complex event processing, design patterns). Understanding of technical architectures and current state of the market in several technology areas. Hands-on experience.
Communications – strong written and oral communications skills; ability to establish credibility.
Rapid prototyping with cutting-edge technology.
Development on embedded platforms such as mobile (Android, iOS).
Adaptable to changing or loosely-defined requirements and embrace learning new tools and technologies.
Proficient at quickly reading and understanding scientific papers in new domains, and apply previous research to create new designs, while remaining abreast of current design trends, scientific advances, and software development practices.
Demonstrated ability to lead innovative, self-directed research.
Ability to learn new concepts quickly and be creative to develop applications to showcase the technology capabilities.
Certification on Cognitive tools like Microsoft Bot Framework & Cognitive Services, IBM Watson, Amazon Alexa etc.
Prior delivery experience with Robotic Process Automation is a plus.
