Job Summary : 3M HIS is currently seeking a NLP Language Engineer to work on our internal knowledge resource services, which runs on a large-scale hosted cloud service for medical documentation processing.
Primary Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To The Following
Provide Java expertise as well as lexical database maintenance based on production feedback and interaction with other research and development teams.
Develop new NLP techniques in pursuit of improved information action and retrieval
Software design, coding, debugging and integration with Natural Language Processing services.
Apply Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) concepts and principles in software design and development.
Work with other software engineers, clinical analysts, quality engineers, and other team members to design and build required systems.
Adhere to team design and coding procedures and standards.

Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited university
Minimum five (5)+ year experience using object oriented programming in enterprise application development
Minimum three (3)+ year experience with Regular Expressions
Minimum three (3)+ year experience working with Natural Language Processing
Minimum one (1)+ year experience with relational databases (coursework considered)
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s or PhD Degree in Computational Linguistics
Experience with language processing, machine learning, and medical data
Strong communication skills
Experience within an Agile, Scrum development environment
Experience with at least one scripting language, such as Perl
Strong knowledge of UNIX/Linux operating systems, development environments and tools
Experience in Web Services standards and coding, especially REST API based service development
Educational level:
Bachelor’s Degree
